This chair was designed for Mr & Mrs Blackie for their Hill House Helenburgh 1905.

The seat height is very low from the ground perhaps to accommodate Mrs Blackie's small stature. The little front legs were a later addition as the chair tilted forward as guests sat on the edge of the chair.

This chair which Sculpt Art has produced was recreated using accurate templates and drawings taken from the original pieces. The chair pictured was also raised by three inches to make it more practical for today's taller people!
